Janet Vincent was a long standing SAWMA committee member who was dedicated to providing care to individuals with a wound. At all times, Janet strived to make a positive difference and actively taught and guided her colleagues. It was with great sadness that SAWMA lost a valuable member and friend with Janet’s unexpected and sudden death on 8th December 2007. In recognition and remembrance of such a vibrant, passionate and loving member and friend, SAWMA is offering an annual “Janet Vincent Education Scholarship”.
THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Janet Vincent Education Scholarship is designed to assist the recipient to attend a certified conference, course or seminar in wound management.
- The scholarship will pay for registration costs to a maximum of $600.00 per calendar year.
- Generally, a maximum of three ($200 per recipient) grants per calendar year will be awarded. However, less than three grants may be awarded.
- When the education scholarship/s for the calendar year has been awarded, notification will be made on the SAWMA web site. Potential recipients are advised to check the web site prior to applying for the grant to verify whether scholarship funds are still available.
- If an applicant misses out on a grant for the current calendar year, a new application can be made the following year – However, scholarship applications cannot be held over by the SAWMA committee for the following year.
